How I Work - Ethics Statement
Thanks for your interest in working together. I’ve spent the last four years building a global community on YouTube—with hundreds of videos, over 5 million views, and tens of thousands of subscribers. That community is at the heart of everything I do.Â
I occasionally work with brands on sponsored content— but only when I genuinely use, like, and trust the product or service. If we collaborate, it’s because I believe in what they offer, and because we’ve built a relationship based on mutual trust.
This is a summary of how I like to partner with brands.
What You Can Expect
Authenticity First
My channel is not an extension of any brand's marketing team. I aim to create content that provides a win-win-win, for the viewer, brand and myself.
Independent Reviews
Most of the products I review are bought with my own money. If I borrow, rent or receive a product at no cost, I'll always make that clear in the video and/or description. I'll also be fair in highlighting the advantages and downsides of any product/service.Â
Paid Reviews
- Paid sponsorships : where I am financially compensated to feature or discuss a product or service.
- Gifted / barter arrangements : where a product is provided at no cost with no other payment involved.
In both cases the YouTube "includes paid promotion" checkbox will be ticked before publishing, so viewers are always informed. I'll also clarify the nature of the partnership in the video and/or description.
Licensing & Usage
Brands are free to link to my content once published, but should always attribute my channel in any posts.
If a brand would like exclusive use, boosting rights, or wish to repurpose my content in any way, a seperate content licensing agreement and fee is required. 30 day, 6-month and 12-month licensing agreements are available.
Non-Negotiables
- Gifted/barter products never guarantee a publishing date, input/sign-off on my content, or any review at all.
- I always disclose sponsorships or gifted products. (if a video isn't labelled as sponsored, it isn't)
- I produce and schedule my own content.
- No-one can buy priority placement or otherwise influence my production timeline.
- I avoid testing pre-production/beta versions of products.
- Whilst press kits are appreciated, I only include information that will be of interest to my audience.
- Any product featured on the channel will be fully researched to ensure the content I produce is accurate and helpful.
- I don't engage in buying views, subscribers or engagement. Any signs of suspicious activity on a sponsored video will result in the content being removed with no refund.
- I never guarantee view counts or performance of a video - all paid sponsorships are based on the agreed content deliverables only. My latest media kit includes average demographics and performance based on the last 3 months of published content. I always watch my own videos at least once, so I can guarantee at least one view!
- Diversity matters to me. If I join a campaign involving multiple creators, I'll advocate for a diverse and representative group.
In Conclusion
Any brand I work with will be asked to read and agree to this statement, and any contracts will reference it explicity.Â
This doesn't cover every possible case and scenario, but gives a picture of how I work and how seriously I take transparency and trust in my content creation.
If you have any questions at all, please get in touch - I'd love to hear from you.
